Born and raised in Edmonton, David Ibrahim graduated from Ross Sheppard High School in 2005. He then earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree, with a major in Criminology, in 2011. During the course of his undergraduate degree, Mr. Ibrahim excelled in his studies and was the recipient of several scholarships.

Mr. Ibrahim then went on to law school, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 2013, and graduated with Distinction. Having always been interested in the criminal justice system, he focused his efforts and paid particular attention to criminal law and trial advocacy while in law school.

Immediately after graduating in 2013, Mr. Ibrahim joined Chadi & Company. In 2025, Mr. Ibrahim proudly joined into a partnership with Mr. Chadi, rebranding our office to Chadi & Ibrahim LLP.

Exclusively practicing in the area of criminal defence, Mr. Ibrahim has successfully defended against virtually every offence in the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has been defence counsel on countless high-profile cases across Western Canada.

Mr. Ibrahim has represented clients all across of Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This cross-jurisdictional experience has allowed him to develop a dynamic approach to advocacy and provides him with a deeper knowledge of the law.

Over the years, Mr. Ibrahim has successfully advanced numerous defences for his clients, including, most notably: possession, entrapment, self-defence, defence of property, identity, duress, alibi, necessity, consent and casting a reasonable doubt on the reliability and credibility of key Crown witnesses.
Mr. Ibrahim also has a particular interest in constitutional law, notably in the areas of arbitrary detention/arrest, unreasonable search and seizure, and judicial authorizations, such as search warrants and authorizations to intercept communications. Equally as important, Mr. Ibrahim takes the liberty of his clients very seriously, and as such, he has developed an expertise in the law relating to bail.

Mr. Ibrahim truly appreciates that dealing with the criminal justice system can be incredibly overwhelming and extremely stressful. A core tenet of his practice is keeping his clients informed and ensuring they are fully apprised of the legal process they are engaged in.
